Two chocolate lovers walk into a kitchen, the rest is NOHMAD: Paleo and Vegan-friendly raw dark chocolate and raw coconut milk chocolate produced by a sunny, ocean-loving duo in Southern California on a mission driven by curiosity about what tastes good and what is good for you.


What started out as sheer curiosity—curiosity about health and nutrition—later grew into curiosity about production and ingredient quality, and finally grew into chocolate with the highest quality ingredients without any added junk or surprises, and most importantly, tastes amazing. Our chocolate is free of soy, dairy, gluten, and preservative.No sacrifices here.

Simply delicious chocolate. Hand-poured goodness. The devil’s in the details, and NOHMAD is devilishly delicious because we are obsessed with refining our process, seeking out the best ingredients, and making formulations that titillate your taste buds while still feeding your body what it needs. It’s truly a win-win.

 The chocolate we make is very different because our process is different. Our small-batched and hand-poured chocolate keeps it simple: from our ingredients, to our process, and even our branding. When life is complicated, your chocolate shouldn’t be. Leave the hard work to us. 


From bean to bar, we create chocolate that showcases cacao in its most unique taste, entirely dependent on the quality and taste profile of the bean. That is why our beans are never roasted, leaving the processing behind, so you can have the most health-giving properties when you enjoy our raw chocolate. Think about cacao differently: Cacao beans are, in fact, a seed from the cacao fruit. Most people know that if a seed is not roasted, it is "raw.” We follow this rule of thumb.


We don’t sacrifice health and nutrition in pursuit of sweetness. You shouldn’t either. While most chocolate uses organic cane sugar, we use organic maple sugar. It naturally contains minerals and other elements with antioxidant properties. But most importantly, it adds a sweet, caramelized taste that allows even our high cacao % chocolate to have very little bitterness.

Support smaller farmers and the communities around them. Our chocolate is made using Single Origin Ecuadorian Cacao from the Sabor Cooperative in the Esmeraldas Region. We pay prices that far exceed those outlined in the "fair trade" requirements because we believe supporting others along this journey is just as important as providing quality ingredients. We’re in this together.


There is still so much that is not understood about the chemistry of chocolate which further fuels our curiosity, every day.
